Project requirements can be managed in two ways after you open a specific project: you can either click Create Requirement to add requirements directly, or link requirements from the product associated with the project. Requirements from executions under the project are also synced to the project requirement list.
The following example uses a Waterfall project to explain how project requirements work.
Go to Project > Select a Waterfall Project > Requirements > Create Requirement
You can create requirements here.
After a project is created, you can link Business Requirements, User Requirements, and Development Requirements within the project. During the early stage, you can link business requirements and user requirements first, and then break them down further once the requirements are clarified.
- In the project, Business Requirements, User Requirements, and Development Requirements are merged into a single requirement list, making it easier for project members to view all requirements linked to the project in one place.
- When unlinking requirements, only the selected requirement itself is unlinked. This does not affect parent-child requirement relationships in other projects. If you want to remove multiple linked requirements together, you can select them in batch and then remove them.

When creating or editing a project, the setting that controls which requirement types can be linked to the project also supports restricting whether Business Requirements and User Requirements can be linked in the project.

In a Waterfall project, phases with the Requirements type include an additional Requirements menu.

In a Waterfall project, General, Requirements, and Design phases support managing Business Requirements, User Requirements, and Development Requirements. All other iterations, phases, and boards support linking Development Requirements only.

Because of the different requirement models and requirement stages, the Development Kanban Board in executions has been updated to display Business Requirements, User Requirements, Parent Development Requirements, and Development Requirements.
