Summary : This section explains how Product Managers can create and manage product plans in Sanplex, detailing status workflows, permission settings, and the interactive Kanban board view for visual planning.

Another responsibility of a Product Manager is to create plans. Product planning is essential for prioritizing tasks and ensuring the team works on the right things. Therefore, planning is indispensable for Product Managers.

  • For Product Managers, a release plan helps structure the product, establish the release cadence, and adjust the priority of stories.
  • For colleagues in other departments and external customers, a release plan provides visibility into the product's progress, allowing them to make appropriate arrangements.
  • Additionally, when linking stories to a project, plans facilitate the story linking process.

Product Managers can watch the following video to learn how to manage plans in Sanplex:

【视频介绍】

I. Manage plans

On a specific product page, you can navigate to the Plan page. Here, you can view tabs for "All," "Unexpired," and "Expired," as well as access the Create Plan button.

Click the Create Plan button on the right side of the plan list to enter the plan creation page. On the plan creation page, the system will display the name of the previously created plan as a reference prompt.

图2

After clicking Save, you will automatically return to the plan list. You can use the action buttons to create executions, link stories, link bugs, edit the plan, create sub-plans, or delete the plan.

II. Plan statuses

Sanplex provides plan status management and board view features, allowing Product Managers to visualize product planning more effectively.

Plan statuses include: Not Started, Doing, Done, and Closed. When entering the plan list page, it defaults to the "Doing" plan list. In the plan list, plans marked as Done or Closed cannot be used to create executions. When linking product plans to projects and executions, you can only link unexpired plans.

You can also filter and view plans using the All, Not Started, Doing, Done, and Closed tabs.

图4

You can change the status of a plan using the action buttons in the right-hand action column of the plan list. You must first assign plan operation permissions under Admin > Members > Permission Groups.

图5

The status of a parent plan is automatically calculated based on the statuses of its sub-plans. Therefore, parent plans do not have status action buttons in the action column. For non-parent plans, you can modify their status using the Start, Finish, and Close buttons.

图6

Closed plans can be activated again from the plan details page.

You can also modify plan statuses when batch editing plans.

III. Plan board view

When viewing the product plan list, it displays in a list format by default.

You can switch to the board view to visualize plans by clicking the toggle button in the upper right corner of the plan list page.

In the board view, each plan status represents a board column.

1. More action buttons for plans

You can perform operations on a plan using its "More" action button within the card. These options are consistent with the action buttons on the right side of the list view.

2. Drag and drop to change status

You can change a plan's status by simply dragging and dropping its card into a different column.

图11

After confirming the action, the plan will be displayed in the "Doing" column.

3. Sort plans in the board view

By default, the plan board view is sorted in descending order by the plan's start date. You can also switch the sorting method to ascending order by start date, descending order by plan name, or ascending order by plan name.
