Summary : Sanplex Standard offers a dynamic Gantt chart to visualize project timelines. It supports advanced task dependencies (FS, SS, FF, SF) and uses prioritized date logic to ensure accurate progress tracking across various time scales.

Sanplex Standard provides a robust Gantt chart feature, offering a visual timeline that allows project managers and teams to intuitively track project progress, task sequences, and resource allocation.

I. Setting Start and End Times for Tasks

When creating or editing a task, you can define its timeline through the Schedule Planning section. In the Gantt chart, the values for the start and end dates are determined by the following priority rules:

  • Start Date:

    1. Actual Start Date (if available).
    2. If no actual start date exists, the Planned Start Date is used.
    3. If no planned start date is set, the Project Start Date is used as the default.
  • End Date:

    1. Actual Completion Date (if available).
    2. If not completed, the Deadline is used.
    3. If no deadline is set, the Project End Date is used as the default.

II. Managing Task Dependencies

Sanplex supports the four standard types of task dependencies to ensure logical workflow sequences:

  • FS (Finish-to-Start): Task B cannot start until Task A finishes.
  • SS (Start-to-Start): Task B cannot start until Task A starts.
  • FF (Finish-to-Finish): Task B cannot finish until Task A finishes.
  • SF (Start-to-Finish): Task B cannot finish until Task A starts.

Key features of the Sanplex Gantt chart include:

  • Grouping: You can group tasks by Task Type, Assignee, or Story to better organize the timeline.
  • Color Coding: Blue bars typically represent group headers, while other colors distinguish tasks based on their Priority.
  • Time Scales: The chart can be toggled to display by Day, Week, Month, or Quarter, allowing for both granular and high-level project reviews.
