Sanplex Standard utilizes advanced libraries to export records as .xls or .xlsx files. Compared to the .csv format, Excel files provide better formatting control and visual presentation.

Currently, the Sanplex Excel import and export feature supports batch operations for Stories, Tasks, Bugs, and Test Cases.

I. Exporting in .xlsx or .xls Format

Taking Story export as an example: Navigate to Product > Export > Export Data.

Select the File Type as either .xlsx or .xls.

If you need to export images embedded within the item's details, you can choose to export as an .mht file in Sanplex Standard. (Note: Exporting file attachments is currently not supported). The layout and styling of the exported tables have been optimized for readability.

II. Import Function

1. Filling Data Using Built-in Templates

There are two main ways to prepare your import data:

• Modify, add, or delete data based on a previously exported data file, and then re-import it.
• Add new data into a downloaded blank template file.

Taking Test Case import as an example: Click Export > Export Template.

Select the desired format for the template.

Fill in your data exactly according to the format and columns specified in the template.

2. Importing Data

Click Import and select the prepared Excel file from your computer.

Review and confirm the data previewed on the screen.

Click Save to complete the import process.
