After you manage test environments in Sanplex, you need to configure each environment so test jobs can run on the execution node. You can access an execution node via Remote Desktop or SSH. For SSH, authenticate using the default username and default password.
For manual testing, install the required software on the execution node and start testing.
For automated testing, first install the required runtime and tooling on the execution node, then you can execute automated tests:
- Common scripting languages include Python and PHP.
- Common automation tools include Selenium, Appium, and Robot Framework.
- Common unit test frameworks include JUnit, TestNG, and PHPUnit.
After that, place your automation scripts on the execution node and run automated tests.
Sanplex official images come with ZTF installed by default. ZTF supports defining, managing, and driving automation scripts; sending execution results back to Sanplex; creating Sanplex bugs; and integrating with other automation frameworks. It is easy to use and has a straightforward syntax.
If you use ZTF, in the client click Settings, select the Server (default: Local) and the Execution Node (default: Local), then click Runtime Environment.

Select the scripting language, then choose the runtime path from the suggested dropdown, click Select to open a file picker, or enter the full path manually.

After completing the configuration, you can proceed to execute automated tests in Sanplex.
